This book is designed to supplement existing texbook on facture mechanics with material related to the analytical solution of partial dif- ferential equations that pertain to its theory. It concentrates mainly on the near crack-tip region, on which most current research is being focused. Further, it contains a collection of problems that are drawn from recent research in the fields of elastoplastic and environmentally assisted fracture mechanics. In the course of solving these problems, several different solution techniques are demonstrated.
